About James

Mr. Adamson is a results-oriented geoscientist with a specialization in hydrogeology, water supply development, and water resources management and has worked in over 30 countries. He has diverse US and global experience that also spans civil/environmental/geological engineering, geophysics, landform stability and natural hazards.  Prior to joining Northwater in 2010, he served nearly a decade at an ENR-ranked top 500 international engineering firm based out of Chicago, USA.  In 2010, he was recognized as Alumni of the Year at the University of British Columbia and he is the co-recipient of national and state-level awards from ACEC for his role in the discovery of a regional aquifer in an arid region of northwest Haiti.  He is a licensed geologist, published author, and peer-reviewer for scientific journals, and currently serves on the board of the American Institute of Professional Geologists (AIPG).

Mr. Adamson is a subject matter expert, consultant, researcher, and advisor for a broad range of clientele and partners; including Fortune 500® firms, national and local governments, mining companies, multi-lateral agencies, international financial institutions, non-governmental organizations, and charities.

His experience extends throughout the United States, Canada, Latin America & Caribbean, South America, Central Africa, East Africa, West Africa, and Asia. He has been working throughout Haiti since 2006, and the country and its people hold a large place in his heart.  He lives in Chapel Hill, NC with his wife, daughter, and dog Tuya and enjoys paddling, climbing, skiing, fly-fishing and backpacking.

For the Waverly Lake TMDL and Watershed Implementation Plan - This is quite a TMDL, and by that I mean a very good one. Good detail on sources, TMDL discussion is good, and it details on reasonable assurance, and it gets into details on RA.
