Northwater designed the water distribution system for the City of Hinche, the capital city of the Centre Department of Haiti. The system was designed to accommodate the future population projection of 75,000 by 2025 and includes 56,000 feet of water main, private metered connections and public kiosks. The aging system is over 30-years old, is significantly degraded and is not designed to accommodate the growth of the city. Northwater also served a project engineer to oversee the installation of the first phase of distribution system pipe, which were prioritized to sections of roads that were being paved. Northwater developed full design documents including plans, typicals, material lists and section profiles. The plans were developed in English and Haitian Creole.
