Water Resources Assessment of Lozandieu Bay

Project Description

Partnered with V3 Companies to perform an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB)-funded study to support an eco-tourism development corridor consisting of 5,400 hectares of mountains and 11 km of beaches on the Southwest coast of Haiti. The assessment characterized the groundwater and surface water resources with the objective to secure a long-term, good quality water supply of 61 liters/second. The project included a comprehensive inventory and evaluation of water features, hydrogeological mapping of 300 km2, hydrochemistry analysis and water modeling. Regional and local groundwater imaging was performed with electromagnetic and electrical resistivity geophysics to understand groundwater conditions and to design a groundwater exploration program. A geodatabase and interactive mapping deliverables were included with the final assessment.
